Chai is a medicinal tea which is handy to have on hand firstly because it tastes great, but did you know it can also help to ward off a cold?  Chai is rich in antioxidants and the spices it contains, such as ginger and cinnamon, are antibacterial and anti-inflammatory.  Ginger is a particularly powerful herb with antimicrobial properties that help to fight off illnesses, while also warming the body.  Black tea also contains polyphenols which have been found to have antiviral properties so it's a win-win!

Chai can help to act as a digestive aid.  Specifically the spices cinnamon, black pepper, cardamon and ginger can help to warm, and stimulate digestion and digestive juices, and reduce any indigestion and discomfort.  They can also help to ease symptoms such as bloating and nausea.

Have a chai and chill!  Chai has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety.  Black tea contains L-theanine, an amino acid which helps to reduce stress, anxiety and insomnia.  L theanine boosts and stabilises the mood through increasing serotonin, GABA and dopamine in the brain.

Reduces inflammation and supports heart health.  Cinnamon and ginger have anti-inflammatory benefits, and the flavonoids which are naturally occurring in black tea can help to prevent the accumulation of plaque in the arteries.

So now that we've gone through the list of benefits, you can kick back and enjoy your chai knowing you are investing in your health with each sip.
